A review of the global LEED project directory (216,487 records) shows retail reaches Platinum at 3.4%, versus 12.2% for non-retail — a fourfold gap in odds. Within the stricter LEED BD+C rating system, only fifteen retail Platinum projects exist worldwide; just three are in hot-desert climate. PENTA Retail Center, certified April 2026, is the world's only multi-tenant retail complex among them — Saudi Arabia's first BD+C Platinum retail and the only project in MENA's BD+C Core & Shell retail Platinum subset.
