The world's oldest green building standard. ISG delivers BREEAM from our London and Abu Dhabi offices across the UK, Middle East, and internationally.
BREEAM is the world's leading sustainability assessment method for master planning, infrastructure, and buildings. Established in 1990 by the Building Research Establishment in the UK, it has certified over 600,000 buildings across more than 90 countries. ISG delivers both BREEAM UK and BREEAM International assessments.
Our London office provides direct access to the UK BREEAM ecosystem — BRE assessor networks, local planning requirements, and the Part L energy compliance landscape. Our Abu Dhabi office extends this capability to Middle Eastern projects where international developers and institutional investors require BREEAM alongside local certification systems.
BREEAM assesses buildings across ten weighted categories: management, health and wellbeing, energy, transport, water, materials, waste, land use and ecology, pollution, and innovation. Each category is scored and weighted according to regional priorities — energy carries more weight in energy-intensive climates, while ecology is weighted higher in biodiverse regions.
ISG navigates the full BREEAM assessment process, from initial pre-assessment through to the final post-construction certificate. Our assessors coordinate with design teams to maximize credit capture while keeping the certification process aligned with project timelines and budgets. For projects requiring both BREEAM and a local system like Estidama or Al Sa'fat, we manage the overlap to avoid duplicated effort.
From pre-assessment to post-construction certificate, ISG delivers BREEAM across the UK and Middle East.
