GSAS — the Global Sustainability Assessment System — is a performance-based green building certification developed by GORD in Qatar. It is mandatory for all government-funded construction in Qatar and has become the de facto sustainability standard for the country's largest infrastructure programmes, from the Doha Metro to the FIFA World Cup 2022 stadiums.

GSO 3000:2025 — a Gulf-wide standard

The Gulf Standardization Organization's adoption of GSAS as GSO 3000:2025 marks a significant shift in regional sustainability regulation. For the first time, all six GCC member states — Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar — will share a common sustainability assessment framework for the built environment.
